7th Special Forces Group Facilities
Bullock Tice Associates partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District and two local architectural firms to provide Architectural and Interior Design, including overall Project Management, for major new facilities to accommodate the relocation of the Army’s 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) – Green Berets – from Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to Eglin AFB, Florida.
Facilities designed by BTA include a 75,000 SF Group Headquarters Facility, 81,000 SF Group Support Battalion/Company Operations Facility, 29,000 SF Dining Facility, 44,000 SF Combat Readiness Training Facility, 4,000 SF Tactical Communication Facility, 23,000 SF Indoor Baffle Range (Weapons Training Facility), 6,000 SF Arms and Ammunition Assembly Point and 11 Earth-Covered Magazines (ECM's).
Challenges addressed by BTA's team of design professionals included the development of new facility designs to meet the Army’s MILCON Transformation requirements (budget, scope, and quality); addressing detailed requirements imposed by the project’s physical location on an Air Force installation (Eglin AFB), including specific physical security protocols, architectural compatibility requirements, utility infrastructure and building systems prerequisites; and coordinating the design effort with two other A/E’s and the MDO COE In-House Design Team.
“Bullock Tice Associates is one of the best A-E firms I have had the privilege to work with during my 27 years in Military Construction Project Management. The quality of their production of construction contract documents is outstanding. Their design process included the Army’s Military Construction Transformation initiatives, LEED Silver, and economic considerations. Their positive attitude and customer relations are an essential asset.” - Charles J. Henderson, BRAC MILCON Program Manager, U.S. Army Special Operations Command
