BRAC MCP Fitness Center

This new, 11,760 SF fitness center supplements the existing fitness center facilities at Eglin AFB and replaces two existing bathhouses. The project meets the needs of additional BRAC population on base. The facility consists of separate fitness and cardio exercise areas for physical training activities and field house activities that include toilet rooms, shower rooms and locker rooms for both men and women. Each space meets all accessibility requirements ensuring all persons have full use of the facility including wounded returning veterans.

BThe project objectives were to provide Eglin AFB with a facility that is energy efficient with low operating costs and durable with the lowest maintenance as possible, to support its mission. This project includes the very first geothermal HVAC system on Eglin AFB. The project also includes all required site work and utility systems. The project achieved USGBC LEED "Silver" Certification under NC v2.2.
